Cola is the most prominent CARBONATED SOFTDRINK worldwide, the applied production processes range from batch to continuous production processes. Several product developments have emerged in recent years – Cola-Mix-Drinks, Lemonades with diverse flavors, Energy-Drinks and a variety of carbonated mixed drinks using WATER and Fruit Juice concentrate.
The Basis in CARBONATED SOFTDRINK production is sugar SYRUP, which is produced most efficiently in a continuous sugar DISSOLVING process. Depending on the type of drink, several concentrates and flavors are added, the final beverage is finally carbonated.
Usually, NON-CARBONATED DRINKS are known as Fruit Juices, made of a variety of basis products like Fruit Juice concentrate, natural Fruit Juice, Juice with pulp and fibres. In recent times, an increasing number of producers began producing drinks on tea-basis, mixed with Fruit Juice and/or flavours.
Natural Fruit Juices, with or without pulp and fibres, need specific THERMAL TREATMENT to guarantee the high quality of the final product. There are several process solutions to end up with the needed result – in many processes, UHT is used.
Even with WATER, customers get more and more sophisticated. It’s not only about sparkling or still, the degree of minerals and salt plays an increasing roll . Customers begin selecting WATER based on the respective water analysis describing the ingredients.
Using WATER TREATMENT, the concentration of minerals and salt can be reduced, and if necessary, specific minerals can be added afterwards. Further, WATER TREATMENT will provide Producers of CARBONATED SOFTDRINKS, NON-CARBONATED DRINKS, NEAR-WATER, WATER and SYRUP with suitable WATER for their beverage production process.
In addition to CARBONATED SOFTDRINKS, customers are demanding an increasing number of NEAR-WATER drinks. Those drinks are based on mineral- or tablewater and are mixed with flavors.
Mixing of Fruit Juices with WATER has a longterm tradition. These days, a variety of ingredients are used to produce a tasty and refreshing drink and to satisfy customers needs. This influences directly the production process, especially regarding mixing and dosing of the respective liquids.
Customers increasingly tend to mix their beverages at home, wheter on the basis of a typical SYRUP or on the basis of concentrates used in specific appliances. The advantage is, that customers are facing reduced transportation costs and they have the choice to produce their own mix – with or without CO2.
For producing SYRUP and / or concentrates, the mixing and dosing precision is essential. To reach a high quality final product, the exact preparation of the SYRUP can be realized in applying an inline dosing system.
